If I added you when I made the account, you know me*. Servant to a wee dog, a novel in progress and a lot of strawberry plants. No politics here, for personal reasons. Not a histscalemodeler *Except for the big accounts, cause I'm not that memorable.

Yes. Talay has an infectious laugh which wins Ratree over every time. Ratree's laughs can be negative but mostly they're genuine. This man, this cheeky charming man with his infectious grin and love of life. His eyes crinkle with mischief. Ratree joins him, laughing (cut for spoiler)

Yes every woman has been harassed, many assaulted. But every woman has also experienced invisible loss from moments she avoided harassment. She felt a space becoming unsafe, so she left, while men stayed on. And in leaving, she lost: opportunities, experiences, learning, promotions, even simply fun.

Today your character has taken over the writing process! So just another day 😄😍 Talay reminds me of the day he threw a grenade into the romance and intimacy arcs and turned a playful public game of Hide & Seek in the market into something much more significant. "It's what I would do."

... or at least in some hidden mountain cabin of the mind, where they were not to be disturbed, could not answer correspondence, such was their devotion to their craft. That was 1997-98. How could you even do that now, in this universe the tech bros & their unquenchable greed have created for us?

#LitHodgepodge 1 Hodgepodge suits me 😄 My WIP uses the trope of characters too caught up in the criminal underworld to escape. There is some action but mostly it's characters & psychological. Draws heavily from Thai (tears & laughs = both) lakorns (evening telly dramas) & doesn't fit western genres.

Absolutely Also, the emotional cost of having to weigh safety constantly - it costs energy that we could be putting to better use, that men don’t have to spend It’s so automatic that we forget it still taps energy to run that program in the background, then we wonder why we are so exhausted

Formulaic fiction especially needs brilliant, creative writers because when you do original things with the ancient tropes is when genre fiction absolutely sings.

DWP posted me a letter informing me that they'll inform me when it's time to claim state pension. Still several years off. I'll have completely forgotten about it by then 😂 (But how the eff did we get to '27 already is now replaced by thinking about how fast the '30s are bearing down on us.)

The last part is true but also, speaking as a woman here, plenty of us ARE paying attention. I think I remember every single man I’ve ever witnessed do something like this, even just online. It matters, to be seen. The habitually unseen don’t forget.

i worry that men think being A Good Guy is dramatically and heroically intervening on behalf of an endangered woman and then being publicly rewarded on a grand scale when actually being A Good Guy is just usually saying, “hey man that’s not funny” or “wow that’s fucked up” and there is no reward

"I saved the princess from the dragon so I deserve the princess as a treat" is an awfully convenient story if your goals are to force women to accept mediocrity AND to create a class of 'bad men' that need to be defeated in order to preserve social order.

Gan gets anxious. And if he wonders if he can do something with electronics, that happens before he considers if he should. Ratree can be, but she can also be impulsive. Earth has to be, living with those two. Talay's patience and tolerance is high enough it causes him problems, but he is so patient

Finished a book you loved? Take a minute to leave a review. ❤️ For an indie author, that little star rating and a few words can make a real difference. Reviews help other readers discover the book, give authors valuable feedback, and show that their work is being read.

#Sustember 29 Not at all underrated, just from a different country. Best crafted lakorn I've seen. Women struggling for agency in a time & culture which defined them by the men in their lives. Most Eng sub viewers ignore that for the M/M romance, but both are there www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnVJ...

France is mandating solar panels on every large commercial car park in the country — turning millions of square metres of idle asphalt into one of Europe's most productive clean energy assets. I have been mentioning this for months - they are shooting up on all the supermarket car parks.

I remember a really frustrating conversation with a generally decent cishet white guy about a news story where a woman was roofied. he went off about wishing he could beat that guy up to avenge her, and I was like "how about start with calling out your friends' sexist tweets?" and he was like 😳

Wider society is wider society. But it works within the story to show the queer characters within bubbles of complete acceptance & I expect the same from readers-there is as little fanfare called to the orientations of the gay & lesbian marriages as we see for het. They just are. And it's all normal

Traumamuffins can be viewed as a kind of anti-edgelord archetype. Instead of going full-Batman, they become even more warm and soft, because they appreciate that more. A truly gentle person knows what the absence of gentleness feels like.

Wee dog woke up from his post-lunch snooze and was wandering around clearly bored. Opened the door in case he wanted to go out for a pee or to sniff the neighbourhood. He saw the rain and decided otherwise. He has food in toys so he's content for the moment.

For afternoon fun, Ratree and Gan are fond of baiting the surveillance team of a criminal organisation into following Ratree around the city trying to get trackers or a listening device onto her. They have no idea Gan is her secret weapon in law assisting her with information as she outwits them.

Tom does 3 things to perfection: makes unexpected links, like jumping dogs and interstellar wormholes; creates characters of amazing complexity (human and other, like badgers and cats); and presents the nonrational as if utterly normal. No word is wasted; all belong on the page. Read all his books.
