Got a Steam Frame & finally trying Alyx Throwing props at the Combine in the opening just phases through them There was an empty newspaper stand & I tried to refill it with newspapers, but I couldn't get a single paper on it without it bugging off & flying across the map 😔

Xbox merging all their teams into singular mega-teams is a bit of nonsense Mega-teams are the exact reason it takes 500 years & 10 trillion dollars to release anything - Feels like the opposite of branching into smaller teams makes infinitely more sense

I've noticed from my time teaching that sunk-cost fallacy is one of the biggest hurdles for new game devs to get over Cutting features is fun! I get "why" people don't want to abandon work they put time into, but it's also a satisfying puzzle to optimize mechanics out of a game

Jonathan Blow is a real interesting case study in computer science because he's very skilled & has a ton of valid criticisms of modern software - but then one of his leading theories on how we got to this point is just "lazy left-wing developers are polluting the industry"

I don't think the Zelda movie needs to make Link necessarily mute - like I could enjoy it if they lean into him being a kid from the forest who can speak to spirits, but doesn't know Hylian to actually communicate with the rest of the cast Or they could do the BotW thing of him not being too verbal

AI gets tossed around at work a lot, but I've yet to see it solve a problem it itself didn't create Like "AI can help read unfamiliar code!" People aren't making legible code because they're having AI write it & read it back to them. Or "AI can make example code!" Same problem
