In a publication authored by a GP2-led team and in partnership with the MJFF, researchers followed up on the recently identified novel non-coding genetic variant in the GBA1 gene that increases #PD risk among individuals of African ancestry. 🧪 Check out the #publication: bit.ly/3VAsjHR

The availability of Parkinson's medicines in Africa and in many countries is unacceptable. Look at new data from the World Health Organization. Ray Dorsey and I will be calling this out with a plan to address it in our next book due out in 2025. We did it for HIV and now we will do it for PD.

Last week, we hosted our first GP2 Regional Investigators Meeting in the Middle East and Africa, bringing researchers together in Morocco! We thank everyone who helped make the meeting a success, and we’re looking forward to more collaborations to advance our knowledge of #PD🧪
