"Socialism" is a vague word that has been used since the 19th Century to refer to anything that claims to "solve the docial question," which is to say everything short of Ayn Rand. If businesses still exist, you're talking about a capitalist system of some sort.

Fighting for our interests requires fighting automation of our jobs, yes. It also requires opposing all capitalist firms, including the ones that make movies we like, including small and minority-owned businesses, et cetera. The system is the problem. Copyright is property.

Well, there are two positions being articulated here: opposing only the world's largest corporations, and fighting capitalism as a whole. I take the latter position. It's not a matter of whether I like Ghibli movies or whether Miyazaki is a good person, it's about the system.

We have to find ways to supersede superficial eternal conflict with fundamental class war.

IMO the problem is not conflict, but the ideological, mind-fogging nature of the conflict, which is facilitated by a structure of universal shallow opposition and "owning" each other (which is where I get closest to agreeing w/ you).
