Small farms should stop trying to compete and start changing the food system
Small farms rarely make a decent living in commodity markets. It’s time to stop chasing scale and start building resilient, relationship-based food systems instead.

Threat of supermarket food shortages in the news? Support local. We work with over 60 local producers; fresh, seasonal, low-waste food from people who care. You know where it comes from, and every purchase builds a more resilient food system. Be the change you want to see.

As the seasons change and Spring begins when it comes to seasonal produce we are now heading into the ‘Hungry Gap’. We’ve made our way through the crops that were planted in summer, but most of the spring crops aren’t quite ready for us. It normally lasts from April until around mid-June.
