Being that today is for Native and Indigenous nations, I will restate that, while I understand the compulsion to opt for the less expensive "Southwestern" sterling knock offs, those pieces are 90% white people stealing Native styles then outsourcing the labor to sweatshops, often the Phillipines.

The imposing Callanish Stones stand talk with their shadows spanning out across the glass. It's a super clear sky, but looks cold. Above the central stone is a strange figure-of-8 shape of dots. This is the location of the Sun, at noon, on various different days across the year.

#sojournuzbekica Some interesting textile notes!
An illustrated sketchbook page titled "Textiles & Carpets" breaking down traditional Uzbek rugs and fabrics. The top row shows hanging samples of Shyrdak (felt mats), Kilim (flat-woven), and Gilam (tufted) carpets alongside chibi-style characters explaining each technique. The bottom section features three detailed textile patterns labeled "Suzani" (floral embroidery), "Ikat" (vibrant dyed weaves), and "Zardozi" (ornate goldwork).

not all ways of doing gender reinstate patriarchial power: just like not all ways of doing femininity instates subjugation, not all ways of doing masculinity instates dominance. in fact, some ways of doing masculinity subvert heterosexual, cissexual, patriarchal imperatives and thus are oppressed.

Something that was once exciting and new and maybe a little scary has become routine, even a little boring. How incredible that is, to be so comfortable in myself that needing to trim my facial hair is an “ugh, I really should get around to it” now.

I think I’ve talked about this here before, but one of the neat things to me about being a little further along in my transition now is how it’s just become a mundane part of my self-care routine. Shower, brush my teeth, shave, do my T shot, brush my hair. Chop wood, carry water.
