So, the National Association of water companies is having a symposium type thing regarding SCADA. As one of two SCADA people at the company, I requested to join the IT people who were already going. The CFO said no. So, the SCADA symposium will have no SCADA people representing us.

Seeing that dog-rat thing run at the window and crash trough it in the first 10 seconds of playing the game was one of the most frightening things I've ever experienced in a video game. It's only topped by most of Clock Tower, bits of Amnesia and any jump in a 3D game that doesn't have quicksaves.

I've been goofing off at work making a learner game before the duck one. After fiddling with a YAML plugin for Godot, I realized that I can just have the engine on my work computer somewhere and edit events in code. Behold, the first screenshot of a game that'll be 3$ in a few months in itch.io.

An early, like, super early, and I mean, oh boy, what did you even post this early, screenshot of a game called Hospital Survival Simulator 2015, previously called Suffering Simulator 2015. It's just a beige background with some bars and some nonsensical text. There's also a framerate counter for some reason. It's not 3D or anything, or 2D for that matter, it's just a UI. The game itself will be about surviving terrible, terrible health related events in terrible, terrible Romanian hospitals. It's based on real world events that happened to me and gave me nightmares for years.
If I can sell enough copies of it, I can buy my blood back.

I keep saying that, it's a reference to a Johnny Bravo episode.

The way they released the cinematic trailer for it, piece by piece, over a year, single handedly brought the cyberpunk genre into the limelight for the next decade. That trailer was so good that EA pushed Syndicate just to ride the wave of made.

There seems to be some discussion about spreadsheet people around here. Once, when I was really sick, I had a dream that I was a spreadsheet. It was terrible. I kept getting word values in date columns and it physically hurt, like jamming a rusty fork into my eyes. I know how a spreadsheet feels.

I especially love how every few months a Windows update breaks the libre fonts pack for some reason and every file I open is blank. Or when having a 1080p, 2k and 4 k display connected caused LibreOffice to run like it was Crysis on a Pentium 2.

EA cares very little for the IP. About a decade ago they gave it a go on a sequel-remake of Ultima 4 with a budget of a half a shoelace and a used piece of gum. Mythic Entertainment did what they could. It did not go well.
