Honestly the case for any design tools. Just watch the designer and see what insane workarounds they came up with that you can fix with 5 minutes of work.

Needs to be large enough for a small water bottle, a reusable shopping bag, and my mini-pharmacy. A bag the size of a phablet and barely wide enough to stick my tiny fist in ain’t it.

Shockingly hard to find men’s crossbody bags that aren’t tiny squares. I regret throwing out my old GAP one from the early 2000s.

Everything I read says you’re supposed to let your cat “win” your play sessions or they get frustrated, but when I do that he walks away and starts yelling at me until we play again so I’m not entirely sure if advice is bad or cat is weird.

And they work very well so far. As someone who gets nauseated at the drop of a hat due to motion sickness, I can ride the train and read and type on my phone for 30 minutes and not get sick! I’d post a screenshot but they don’t get captured by screenshots…

iOS (and recently Android) has a feature called “motion sickness dots” where it renders a bunch of dots on the screen and uses the gyroscope to animate them when they detect acceleration (ie: if you’re turning left, they’ll slide across the screen, versus sliding down the screen if moving forward)

Went back and finished Unicorn Overlord. Gorgeous game, enjoyed the og Ogre Battle style gameplay, but even Tactician was pretty easy, I think I should’ve cranked the difficulty to that last step. Story was serviceable. Absolutely nutty number of characters, up there with Fire Emblem or Suikoden.

Have to say, I much prefer getting announcements to games that will be out in 3-4 months rather than 3-4 years. Who knows if the game will even exist in 3-4 years or if it’ll have to pivot, get cancelled, or get delayed?

Did the author intend to support or criticize some aspect of 1890s British society? Maybe, but maybe not. Author’s dead, can’t ask. But you can look to 1890s British society to understand what the input may have been.

I like this framing because it finally allows me to understand why I disliked the framing my intro to sci fi prof used. She assumed everything had authorial intent. I argued how could we know it was intent, maybe it was unintentional. But it’s *always* a product of its time and place.

Actually was pretty well laid out with lots of comments, but the issues were it was almost overly abstract for what it was doing and just…a lot of code. The human didn’t spend the time to break it into smaller pieces.

Talarian @talarian.bsky.social · 10/08/2026
I’ll be honest, I’m not sure how humans are supposed to code review 100+ files of AI code output with any sort of reasonable input. Let alone 2 such changelists in 2 days. If it were a human I’d tell them to go break up the CLs into smaller parts, but the answer I got was “can’t, AI made it”

My cat is capable of performing about 13 tricks on command and crushes every feeder puzzle he runs into, but somehow a half-closed bedroom door was too much for his cat-mind and triggered a full screaming meltdown. Cats. Wtf.

Which of course isn’t as easy as just uninstalling some programs. Noooooo, I had to dig through the services manager with a fine tooth comb and kill and prevent startup of a lot of leftover services. What took me 30 minutes to diagnose and fix would’ve been like a $500 repair bill for some rando.

OEM software should be classified as malware. Anything related to sound on my new PC (settings window, trying to join a meeting, even just adjusting volume) would hang for 30-60 seconds on every interaction until I fully removed everything ASUS and AMD from my installed software.

Yes, I get it. Sometimes you just need to ship, deadline’s here, and you live with it. But like, we should know how our code works, and if you see something you don’t understand, where’s the curiosity? The sense of exploration? These are the problems that turn you into an excellent programmer.

Talarian @talarian.bsky.social · 18/07/2026
As much fun as “load bearing code, don’t delete, we don’t know why” stories are, it doesn’t actually speak very well to either your programmers or the organization’s approach to tech debt. You should know why things work or don’t work, or be able to learn why.

The negative is its overwhelming. I say this twice because there’s so much that even explained you miss nuance, etc. but I enjoyed it quite a bit and the Celtic fae theming was quite neat.

Kynseed is charming and open ended in a way that the other games you list aren’t. There’s SO much to do it’s overwhelming. It’s almost like what Fable was touted to be minus the real time combat. Generational, you can be a shopkeeper, a farmer, a warrior, a gatherer, etc.

My cat Peter and I do training twice a day with his dental treats and he *lives* for it, favourite parts of his day. We’re up to 11 tricks: * Sit * Stand * Lay down * Paw/Left Paw * Spin/Turn (different directions) * Touch (Boop) * Step * Up/Down (to or from a surface) Trying for high five next.

Thiiiiiiis so much this. Every time you get to near shipping and there’s a bunch of stuff that just isn’t hitting the quality bar you want to hit that wasn’t originally accounted for. This isn’t bad unto itself; you just need to be realistic about giving yourself time to iterate.
