Thanks, reposted with correction. The class 50 part was a typo but it's a good excuse for a pic of one, which is on my list of "BR locomotives I want to kitbash from something else" b/c I found the 3D file and there's a lack of commercial Z scale versions, at least that I could find.

Today's model railroading advice-to-self is "relax your tracks". I had made the track follow the cork I'd cut rather than the other way around, resulting in slight bends that would throw cars off at speed and the need (probably) for more terminal connectors. Inserting a turnout let me re-lay it.

This turned out to be a good thing, because I'm really tired of getting all this track working, and now it is, but the best way it fit together doesn't leave much room in one crucial spot. So, put another turnout off the mainline on the back side to get longer consists in? One last change.🙄

I've just finished the body shell for my #3Dprinted 0-6-0 chassis. It's basically an LB&SCR E2 with the dimensions of Thomas from #Thomasandfriends. Looking forward to getting this printed and seeing the locomotive run. #modelrailway #3Ddesign #Blender

3D render of my LB&SCR small E2. Rendered in blender. The model is essentially my Thomas model I designed a while ago, modified to look like the early E2 locomotives without the tank extensions.

The other side of the model, displaying the westinghouse pump that is attached to the side of the water tanks.

A behind shot, displaying the coal load in the bunker. Along with some of the cab detail. The cab is a new addition to the loco that wasn't included in my old Thomas model.

BNSF 8279 led an eastbound freight passing a string of log cars at the Sagintree Lumber Company at Tuolumne on the California Central Model Railroad Club (CCMRC) in the historic Agnew depot in Santa Clara, CA. on Saturday, May 16, 2026 during a DC operation session. This is an Athearn Genesis HO model.
The real BNSF 8279 is an EMD SD75I. Reportedly it was built in 1997, builder's number 996740-4.

Back home from the Porthmadog Model Show! Two days over in quick succession, but it was a different and fun one for us being right next to the Ffestiniog and indeed the sea for the first time for one of these events. #modelrailway #narrowgauge #ffestiniograilway #trains

Overview of the whole stand. I think we're going to need another set of shelves soon! For this event we wanted to make the stand a bit more colourful, to that end spent a lot of nights up to the day of the show painting everything!

The NG7 section, mainly showing the three Englands, "Palmerston" and the Manning Wardle in, somewhat liveries that work.

The O9 and OO9 section. The Heywood kits were a lot of fun to paint up, opting to do the tram "Arthur" in a maroon to make it a bit different. Very happy with the Exmoors! And my partner did a wonderful job on the Drewry.

I didn't see before that I can actually make it around the bend into the tunnel with the bedded track w/ only 1 cut. Big improvement on the flex track I had before. It's been fun making this up as I go but I don't think I'll ever make another model railroad layout without having an exact track plan.

Built all these mini-tamiya wires b/c the ready-made ones i had used huge wires and only pretended to fit into the quick disconnects. Along with painstakingly (literally) joining all the track this model railroad layout is *so close* to being 100% connected except one siding. Already 100% more fun.

Rokuhan plastic joiners are nicely made to hold the metal joiner by resting them in the well on top, but Peter honestly I just needed a thimble out of a sewing kit lol. Next time. I learned so much by doing it all with magnifying goggles... basically all the puzzling issues I've had before solved.
