I did it! I think it’s probably more common with trans people who have a supportive family and don’t feel the need to completely distance themselves from their past name.

That only works if you’re actively rebuking their bullshit, which is exactly what he didn’t do with Charlie Kirk. He just agreed with him, legitimizing and spreading his vile nonsense in the process. Why do we need another Joe Rogan?

I agree that it’s a very powerful force for development, but as you say it’s not something that’s sustainable. It’s also not something that prioritizes basic moral outcomes like housing people or providing affordable healthcare. It was the next step hundreds of years ago but we need something better

Transphobia is a rich man's game. It allows billionaires to position themselves as brave truthtellers challenging the status quo without really risking anything because the group they're demeaning lacks much of any institutional power. It gives them the thrill of martyrdom without any sacrifice.
