I recommend everyone watch Multi-Facial. It is Vin Diesel'd short drama that helped jump start his career. I think he is a great actor, and a genuine person. His Instagram is clearly run by himself and is very cute at times.

Another part of this that was probably not the intention, but framing it as "saving the day" makes it more of a spectacle or climactic event, when in reality it is usually much more boring. You don't typically save your town from corrupt developers in one go: you organize and engage repeatedly.
