if the companies want to encourage anthropomorphizing for engagement: just as a human mathematician whose proofs are invalidated by a sign error would be subject to a reputational hit, all subsequent work produced by this AI model should be subject to much greater scrutiny.

i think there is a lot more across-field variation than within-field variation where some fields just stochastically dominate others (e.g. the worst-dressed art historian is better dressed than the best-dressed economist?)

Thread 1/n: There’s already evidence on how people learn to play these games (e.g. in the cited, but oddly not discussed, papers by Blume et al. 1998, 2001, 2002) to judge what learning rules best describe people’s adjustments with or without a pre-existing common language.
