We got Rose at 18 months. She was passed out of Guide Dog training before starting formal classes because of her lack of ability to pay attention. I’m so happy they didn’t offer her to MAFS or Customs, because with her scent drive she would have been a natural for them.

Having had one 45 years ago, I’m not sure there is a good time of year. In my case though it was worth the post operative pain & irritation once everything was healed.
