It's only deceiving the electorate if the intent was there. Key word - campaign. Lying POS parties whether it's red, blue/green and now orange rarely stick with what they campaign on. They won't go against their donors. Vote for Greens or Independents who don't have the quid pro quo obligations.

Software engineering could and should be done with the same care as any other type of engineering. This is a post in honor of Margaret Hamilton (and also a subtweet of all vibe-coders everywhere).
Screencap

"“I fought to bring the software legitimacy so that it — and those building it — would be given its due respect, and thus I began to use the term ‘software engineering’ to distinguish it from hardware and other kinds of engineering, yet treat each type of engineering as part of the overall systems engineering process,” Hamilton told El Pais in 2018. “When I first started using this phrase, it was considered to be quite amusing. It was an ongoing joke for a long time. They liked to kid me about my radical ideas. Software eventually and necessarily gained the same respect as any other discipline.”"

"the saxophone music is getting louder" archive.li/iVcvY So 1/3 of Firmus' US$5.8B EBITDA in first 12mo will come from a "nascent project" (aka doesn't exist yet) built by this company who have built no datacenters before, and which had $50M in revenue last year. Biggest IPO since Telstra *giggle*
Documents circulated to prospective investors said Firmus would generate $US5.8 billion in earnings before interest and taxes in around 12 months, including about a third from its nascent project in Batam in Indonesia. It ended the last financial year with revenues of $US50.8 million.

The private school lobby claims they’re relieving pressure on the public school system, but that’s a false economy. Public schools are so underfunded that out-of-pocket costs are soaring and teachers are dipping into their own pockets to pay for classroom supplies.
