tangentially related in a way i'm struggling to attach: i think it'd be interesting if the metanarrative in particular was something that was almost a red herring. a means to comment on how the fandom has missed the forest for the trees as it were, ignoring the actual story for something "deeper"...

Sussus Amogus @sussus.guhcat.com · 10/07/2026

i hope one day toby and co do an interview about the development of deltarune's story. i think it'd be *really* interesting to know how much of it (and what) was planned ahead of time, and what effect (if any) the fandom has had on telling it

gotta love the "Am I Affected?" section on the copy fail website lmfao "you'll know if you're affected by whether or not you're affected. hope this helps 😊" like. no dates or kernel versions or anything..?

A screenshot of the web page showcasing the copy fail Linux vulnerability, specifically of the "Am I Affected?" section. The page reads:

"If your kernel was built between 2017 and the patch — which covers essentially every mainstream Linux distribution — you're in scope."

i think this might genuinely be the dumbest email i've ever received in my entire life what's the point of even *having* a reviews section if i can't look at it 😭

A screenshot of an E-Mail from Amazon. It reads:

"Hello,

Thank you for your request to see more customer reviews.

Your request is not approved at this time, and you will see a limited selection of customer reviews."

mastodon's UX is so infuriating. like why am i railroaded into loading a user's frontend 50% of the time i look at one of their posts? like. social media is just an interactive rss feed imo. your rss reader doesn't force you to use other rss readers to see content!!

000

Sussus Amogus @sussus.guhcat.com · 16/03/2026

honestly, this is where i'm at now :p i've carved windows, twitter, and (while a lower impact) chrome out of my life already. what's discord too? i'm not letting myself get too comfortable on platforms anymore. comfort is how people and platforms act with impunity, and i won't be part of that

I stopped trying to debate software developers on LLMs a while back. It's fruitless. Even if they could be budged on empirical grounds, they are explicitly fine with using tools that are themselves deeply unethical.

said it on twitter when they were first trying to do this, and i'll say it again here

A tweet from my old Twitter account, posted on March 14, 2024, which reads:

"there's a lot of things to say about this, but for one: the fact that their solution to 'they might use our personal data' is 'sell it to an American company' and not 'we need stronger privacy protections to prevent this from happening at all' says a lot I think"

it’s come to my attention that my tumblr post has been crossposted to bluesky, so I’m posting it on my account here #AntiAI #GenAI

recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best.

It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence relies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.

ah yes. the age old "google gives mozilla money, who then spends money to place ads on a google owned platform, in order to then serve ads to a person who already uses the mozilla product they're advertising" gambit. a tried and true method!

A screenshot of YouTube open in a Mozilla Firefox window. An advertisement for Firefox is present on YouTube. Adorned with two large buttons each labelled "Watch" and "Download", the ad reads:

"Firefox. Open what you want"

oh fuck right off mozilla lmfao

A screenshot of a Mozilla Firefox tab, opened automatically at startup.

Text reads:
"You power Firefox. Now donate to make good tech the default.

Mozilla Foundation — the non-profit behind Firefox — is building a future where technology serves people, not power.

Your donation to Mozilla Foundation keeps the internet open, private, and built for people. Donate today to make good on the promise of the internet."

irritatingly, the list of Al settings in Firefox has grown. to kill them all as of today (Nov 20, 2026), go into about:config and set all of these to false (yes, you'll have to copy and paste them one by one):
• browser.ml.enable
• browser.ml.chat.enabled
• browser.ml.chat.menu
• browser.ml.chat.page
• browser.ml.chat.page.footerBadge
• browser.ml.chat.page.menuBadge
• browser.ml.linkPreview.enabled
• browser.ml.pageAssist.enabled
• browser.tabs.groups.smart.enabled
• browser.tabs.groups.smart.userEnabled
• extensions.ml.enabled
• browser.search.visualSearch.featureGate

in addition to nuking Al, it'll also speed up your browsing
