Susanna Carroll @susannacarroll.bsky.social · 21/01/2026Returned to my car, Grey Toyota Aygo, in the hospital carpark to find an identical Aygo parked next to it. It appears that I'm not the only person who, when they spot a similar car in the carpark, will attempt to park next to it so the car will have a little friend to talk to while I'm away. 2190
Susanna Carroll @susannacarroll.bsky.social · 24/10/2025it's nine-fifteen. I've realised I've been wearing my cardie inside out all day. Luckily it's blowy weather and my zip-up padded coat concealed this when I went into town. Still got a nod fromone of the Costa regulars; an older gent, there most days, quietly reading his paperback. Have I pulled? 0161
Susanna Carroll @susannacarroll.bsky.social · 17/09/2025Head gasket blown, she's 16 years old, 126,000 miles, sadly it's Kurtains, for Kara the Ford Ka, it would Kost more to fix her than she's worth (at least in money). 1150
Susanna Carroll @susannacarroll.bsky.social · 09/08/2025Went to see "An Evening of Clairvoyance", arrived to find it had been cancelled at short notice, as the Medium wasn't well. At least I resisted the temptation to say "They didn't see that coming". 3301
Susanna Carroll @susannacarroll.bsky.social · 12/05/2025A bin lorry (Garbage truck to our US friends) caught fire this morning and driver dumped the entire load of rubbish onto the road to stop the whole thing from going up in flames. This was on American Lane in Huntingdon (UK). This feels like it might be a metaphor for something. 1171

Susanna Carroll @susannacarroll.bsky.social · 20/11/2024As once more there're threats of Nuclear War, the Government should reissue the "Protect and Survive" booklet from the 1980s. It's still be a joke, and we need a laugh. 2133

Susanna Carroll @susannacarroll.bsky.social · 27/12/2023If the Facebook advert for your self-published fantasy novel(s) on Amazon mentions Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, JK Rowling, or Neil Gaiman etc, it's safe to assume that your books are rubbish and that your family and best mates wrote all the 5 Star reviews. 111

Susanna Carroll @susannacarroll.bsky.social · 01/12/2023Three of the last five films I've seen have been psychological thrillers; The Lesson, Saltburn, and Eileen. The last two are in the vein of Patricia Highsmith (Saltburn is Brideshead Revisited plus The Talented Mister Ripley). Eileen has a touch of Hitchcock. The first two feature Richard E Grant. 022

Susanna Carroll @susannacarroll.bsky.social · 10/11/2023Dream Scenario (2023) a very dark comedy. Nicholas Cage as a middle-aged biology professor, who starts appearing in strangers' dreams. He goes viral on social media and becomes a celebrity. Then his dream character turns violent, fame turns to notoriety, he's harassed and shunned, and it gets worse. 011
Susanna Carroll @susannacarroll.bsky.social · 10/11/2023Dreamt I'd been given a job fitting six mosquitos with skis. (Three legs to each ski which were tiny slivers of wood, glued on). Messed up the first one, but got the knack, and did a few extra as spares. 021

Susanna Carroll @susannacarroll.bsky.social · 02/11/2023A woman complimented me on the colour of my car (KAra the Ford KA) as I was parking her today. KAra is a vivid lime green. She said that she'd owned a bright orange car, which was also impossible to lose in a car park. 261

Susanna Carroll @susannacarroll.bsky.social · 23/09/2023Just returned from an "Evening of Clairvoyance" at the local Spiritualist church with a demonstration of 'Psychic art', where the medium produced charcoal and chalk portraits of the spirits to accompany her readings. Susanna Carroll @susannacarroll.bsky.social · 20/09/2023The brids are attacking the pyracantha berries with enthusiasm, despite having to cling on tight because of the wind. The downside of this is copious mounts of pink poo on the car. Dare I go out, and risk severe dishevelment? 020
Susanna Carroll @susannacarroll.bsky.social · 19/09/2023Odd dream: I had to walk into work overnight, through various Northern townscapes, almost 30 miles. When I got there I only had the clothes I was wearing, no pencils or laptop. Was given some paperwork that didn't make sense, and was pretending to my co-workers that everything was OK. 150
Susanna Carroll @susannacarroll.bsky.social · 18/09/2023proper British autumn at last, intermittent rain under a heavy grey sky. And the birds going mad stripping the berries off the pyracantha - they were dining elsewhere 'til today. 010
