I think many of the scholars on authoritarianism believing the US would be a competitive autocracy like Hungary are wrong. Had DeSantis been elected, that would've been the case. This moment has much more of the makings of a downward spiral into totalitarianism.

When Darwin said "Fittest" he meant Best-Adapted, not strongest. Species that cooperate (like wolves hunting in packs or primates with social bonds) often thrive better than those that compete excessively.

I am so heartbroken. I got to know Elisa two years ago when she came to me with hundreds of emails of anti-trans legislators scheming around restricting trans rights. I helped get her story told by the New York Times and Washington Post. She deserved so much better. RIP.

Flawed analogy! Science doesn’t rely on itself for validation! It’s tested against external reality through observation, experimentation, & falsifiability. The Bible, however, is self-referential; using it to prove itself is circular reasoning. Faith in the Bible seems to kill integrity & reason!
