After witnessing yet another example of Barnaby being ‘tired and emotional’ in an interview, Australian political journalists need to ask themselves this: If a female politician behaved the way he does, how long would it take you to declare her unfit to hold any office? #auspol #abc730

While I'm still on about storytellers and accuracy and which stories we choose to tell, and Christopher Nolan being brilliant at the stories he chooses to tell? I think he told a fine story with Dunkirk, but I still want to see a different story that is both more accurate and more interesting.

Mainstream media is continuing its word policing on behalf of the Netanyahu regime. In Gaza, "genocide" could never be used unless highly qualified, or with right of reply to the genocidaires. Lebanon; the Israeli invasion and ethnic cleansing has the media scurrying to the euphemism thesaurus.

"Get out of your rooms!" A pregnant woman was inside Dorothy Day House in Greenslopes, Queensland when 7-8 armed police hammered on the doors early Friday morning. Terrifying occupants, they executed a raid under Premier David Crisafulli's new speech criminalisation laws. #qldpol
Armed police raid Catholic community centre over banned pro-Palestine banner. A pregnant woman and her husband said they endured a ‘terrifying’ armed police raid at their Brisbane Catholic centre over a pro-Palestinian banner. Armed police have raided a progressive catholic community centre in Brisbane for displaying a banner with the banned phrase “from the river to the sea”. Franz Dowling, a resident and organiser at the Dorothy Day House in Greeslopes, awoke early Friday morning to a significant police presence at his home. “There were 7-8 police, they just came pounding on the doors yelling ‘get out of your rooms.’ “They ushered us all into the lounge room and detained us there while they searched the house.” “It was pretty terrifying stuff,” he said. Mr Dowling said he placed the sign on his home in response to the ban on the phrase, which he believes infringes on freedom of speech and protesting against genocide.“I’m very open and honest and everything, but I did not expect the extremity of the measures that took place.” “I don’t know what they were expecting, it was very full on … when they saw my wife was pregnant, it shook them back to reality.” “They were ready for a fight.” The volunteer-run Dorothy Day House is a part of the Catholic Worker Movement – a Christian activist group founded on principles of non-violence. In addition to taking part in the pro-Palestinian movement, they protest on environmental issues and run weekly soup kitchens for the homeless. Mr Dowling denied intending to cause fear or harm to the community. “It’s a very tumultuous time we live in, I know that people who buy into the narrative of there not being a genocide committed against the Palestinian people have a lot of fear about what these sayings mean.”
“The statement is for me a statement of freedom and peace and is an extremely non-violent statement,” he said.A police spokeswoman said the search was undertaken on the property by officers from the Security Investigation Team.

truly incredible that strava leaks are still happening after all this time
One lap and then it starts again. On March 13, at 10:35 a.m., amidst the waves, Arthur (not his real name), a young officer in the French Navy, was out for a run, circling the deck of the ship where he worked. To record his performance
— a little over 7 kilometers covered in thirty-five minutes-he used the smartwatch on his wrist. The data collected was then uploaded to the internet.
Because Arthur has a profile on the sports app Strava, and it's "public": anyone can view it.
The young man has therefore just reported, almost live, the exact position in the Mediterranean Sea of the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle and its escort, northwest of Cyprus and about a hundred kilometers from the Turkish coast, as Le Monde has observed .
