such a good eg of why political argument matters - polling previously showed over 60% support for keeping triple lock. Argue to unlock it *for something people also want* & numbers can change. (Obv can change back again if someone makes a good argument against, but either way, politics=argument)

Years ago backstage at a festival I approached Sarah Cracknell of St Etienne, with the intent of sharing my love for her. Sadly, having overcommitted to drugs earlier in the day, I was off my face so it came out as a scream. A shrill, long wail. I think of this often.

The BBC thinks that Danny Tommo and his masked thugs have a ‘Christian message’. Please tell me how you can explain reporting like this without concluding that there are editors, reporters and managers within the BBC who are sympathetic to, if not not paid up supporters of, the violent far right.

I knew my teenaged daughter was in her rebellious phase but I wasn't prepared for: a. her adding off-putting fruit from a fruit cup to her pizza slices, nor b. being called a "Pizza Karen" when I challenged her on it, nor c. the wife and son laughing at the term "Pizza Karen".

People are increasingly incapable of accepting minor criticism, ever conceding fault or just blithely, inconsequentially apologising. Willingness to pacify turned into stubborn indignation then morphed into aggressive belligerence. It is a worrying trend.

They have a very good life looking from the outside, retired for over a decade, lovely house, holidays galore.Strange

A serious democratic society simply cannot allow this. That's £72 million from just two men. (Both, until lately, based overseas). The average UK earner (full-time) would have to work for over 1,800 years to raise that much. It's a nuclear strike on any pretence at the equality of political power
