Latest Character I finished for @puppytruck.dog ! Ms. Microfiche! This one has a crazy lot of parts to animate and the hose texture is tiling so it can UV scroll to make it seem to spool off when she uses the end bit to dangle from.

A cartoony arachnid character consisting out of a hose reel with a handle on top and 6 metal legs wearing pink purple rubber boots. She has a camera with 3 lenses for a face and her arms are a swiss army knife with pliers or scissors and that useless tweezers from army knives stuck on a metal arm with a piece of old gum. There's just too much to describe so I'm stopping here, but you sorta get the idea I hope.

I realized some of you might not be aware it is possible to preorder a plush King County Metro style bus Don't worry I am here to help merch.fixthel8.com/us/all-products/plush-bus

Photo from the website that has a cute plush "eight" bus with eyes and everything, KC Metro stile with green and yellow, lovingly placed on a sidewalk curb in front of an actual 8 bus. It is the most adorable thing you've ever seen and you definitely need to buy one

ooghhh yes that's a good one lots of good game stuff to chew on there

SugarKills - @sugarkills.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

Yume Nikki: This is a massive influence on me. the exploration and chance encounters and collecting abilities is just ohh. I love this game and it showed me how unique the experience of a game could be

110

SugarKills - @sugarkills.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

additional post about SotC: I also used to spend a lot of time just exploring the plains and eating lizard tails. there's admittedly not much reason to do this but I love it's there and I wish more games had that kind of optional approach.

SugarKills - @sugarkills.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

Shadow of the Colossus : hugely influential in my taste as well. it's a gorgeous artistic game that says so much with so little. I remember the first time I encountered a collosi in the demo I ran all the way back to the main base fully believing it was following me the whole time lol

SugarKills - @sugarkills.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

Year of the Dragon cemented my love of the series and cute platformers. Also gave me Moneybags who I love forever mwah

Half Life 2: man.....this one cut me deep into my taste. If Goldeneye was the intro to FPS HL2 set my expectations for how they should be. I'd spend hours nocliping around and exploring the limits of the game with the console commands.

SugarKills - @sugarkills.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

Goldeneye: I used to abuse the cheats to this game as a kid and make my own kinds of games within the game that taught me how to engage with games differently than expected. I'd pretend to be a tourist in the Silo mission with the camera lol

Kirby and the Crystal Shards: I loved this game so much but I didn't know it had a True Ending for a long time and I spent a lot of time thinking about how it would continue from there lol introduced me to the concept of the actual ending being something you work for

SugarKills - @sugarkills.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

Honestly all of Pokemon's Gen 1 + 2 games can go here. They rocked my world as a kid and having access to all versions I had a uniquely isolated experience with the game. Gen2 I have the most fondness for, there's something to it's look and feel that speaks to me.

Oracle of Ages: might be one of my favorite Zelda's tbh, I have a fierce intensity of the love I have for this game. It absorbed me as a child as still stays as my ideal adventure game. The fact it was connected to Ages and brought additional stuff to explore was so cool to me

SugarKills - @sugarkills.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

Creatures: I loooved this game as a kid. I never fully understood it or got far but I was fascinated by exploration and the unique learning capabilities of the creatures.

scribble comic on being "born trans" cuz im always thinkin about it. #pepperbloomart

photo of a smeary ink comic in my sketchbook.
panel 1: "as a kid in the 2000s, my impression of trans people was mostly this." on TV, a woman states, "my soul is trapped in the wrong body."
panel 2: "in the mid 2010s it was more like this." a tumblr post reads, "my parents assigned me the wrong gender at birth."
panel 3: "throughout the eras of discourse there was one throughline." a figure waves a big pride flag and states, "nobody made me trans - i was born this way."
panel 4: "so if i definitely AM transgender, but if i definitely WASN'T at birth, where do i fit in?"
panel 5: me prancing around in a tutu. "i was not a transgender child. i loved girly stuff. ballet, barbies, the whole 9 yards."
panel 6: "actually i didn't even question my gender until all my friends were doing it." a friend asks, "we're all jumping off this bridge, you in?" i reply "oh hell yeah!"
panel 7: "but i did start to actively ID as trans after a few decades of the crushing expectations of womanhood." the word "womanhood" is massive, crushing me.
panel 8: "masculinity was my escape. maybe i didn't have a male 'soul,' but i WANTED one." i'm laying on my bed, gazing sadly at r/ftm.

panel 9. "if we understand 'man' and 'woman' as social constructs, shifting among different places and time periods, then we must acknowledge transness is a construct as well." doodles of the same woman, dressed in clothes from around the world.
panel 10: "which is kinda scary! cuz if transness isn't inherent, then--" a strawman transphobe bursts in shouting "TRANS IS FAKE"
panel 11: transphobe grabs me by the shirt. "you admit it! gender is a social contagion! you're making the kids MORE TRANS!"
panel 12: "to which i can only respond" -- i shrug and smile -- "yeah! pretty cool right?"
panel 13: my fursona dressed as a girl and a boy, dancing with itself. "judith butlet famously described gender as performative. cis and trans alike, we act out gender to reinforce it."
panel 14: boy fursona vanishes. girl furzona is handed a paper with the trans symbol on it. "but you don't need to be handed the 'trans script' to try a new role."
panel 15: "after all--" my fursona wearing a beret in a folding chair. "you're in the director's chair!"
panel 16: me chillin'. "maybe if womanhood was defined differently, i'd still be a woman. but i CHOSE to transition. and i'm damn glad i did."
