My Uber Driver ratings say I’m a “great conversationalist” but it’s literally only because there’s a 50% chance any given middle-aged guy in my car is a Stephen King fan and I just ask them to share their thoughts on The Dark Tower series for the length of the ride.

As ever, @polgreen.bsky.social gets the moral balance precisely right; while this is an op-ed, it contains real reporting that punctures some of the reactionary mythologising about these protests. Her final words are haunting.

There might be problems in the student protest movement for Gaza, but they are not misguided in their goals.

“The Music Man”, my favorite musical about a grifter capitalizing on a moral “not our kids!” crisis that he himself fabricated. You can mad libs “Ya Got Trouble” with any social panic.

So if you need to keep working with art, design, videos and photography, know that you don't HAVE to keep using Adobe products. Changing tools sucks, I know. But it's the right thing to do.

Read Dorley Hall. I was surprised by how much I related to it as a trans man. I don’t want to co opt the narrative, because I know it’s INTRINSICALLY tied to trans fem experiences, but it was so powerful for me as someone whose learned gender roles became poisonous, and how transition saved me.

Transgender kids:
-Have autonomy
-Deserve respect
-Know their needs
-Are whole people
Denying transgender children care is unethical and goes against consensus medical opinion: it does not result in fewer transgender people but in unhappier transgender adults - The fact that cisgender people struggle to accept transgender children does not make transgender children the problem! - The conflict over detransitioning comes from the immense and unnecessary stress we place on the significance of transitioning in the first place - We should all have the freedom to explore our gender and to have our identities respected - Children are not objects or pets! They must be able to make informed choices about their own health and medical care! - Neurodivergence and disability does not invalidate transgender identity!
Trans dignity now!
In the background, encircling the transgender symbol: NEVER GIVING UP - NEVER GOING AWAY
Image is in predominantly green, dark teal and pink hues.

Whether or not transphobes know this or believe this, it's without question one of their biggest fears: Transness is a natural thing that occurs in humans. You could Thanos snap every single one of us away right now and we'd be back in just a few years. Transness cannot be stopped.

A fabric obsessed witch illustration!

An illustration of a person with intricate clothing on sitting on a vintage Singer sewing machine. The waves of water below them are made of frilly fabric and red lace interwoven through the piece. It's a fun silly piece I made at the end of 2022 and didn't have the courage to finish until now.

I made a new postcard for Palestine you can send to your reps. In this folder are 5 different versions (this is #5), there are jpg images of each postcard, or a PSD file with all 5. Print on standard 8x11 cardstock and cut into 4 cards. drive.google.com/drive/folder...

A postcard design featuring a drawing of the children of Palestine calling for a ceasefire. The image is bordered by olive branches, a symbol of peace and of Palestine. The text says "10,00 children have been killed in Gaza. Families are starving to death and being killed by sniper fire from Israel for trying to get flour. We need a permanent ceasefire now."

My sibling, who is trans and about to be ordained as a rabbi, just sent me this blessing to day upon meeting an egg. I thought you all might enjoy it

blessing upon seeing an egg
written by Tom Lowenthal

To be said to oneself upon meeting someone who you think might be trans but not yet realize it.
This invocation is intended to provide comfort and celebration, since these moments can be heart-wrenching and entail a desperate desire for the wellbeing and happiness of this other person, combined with a bittersweet understanding of the challenges that their
future journey may entail. More information can be found in the Appendix.

I am grateful that in the infinite majesty of the universe I am able to encounter another like and unlike me, for nothing is lacking in the world. In good time may you adopt your truest form. May you find safety, joy, and community on this journey, whether or not you have yet started it.
