There's unused dialogue in FF7 where Cloud is surprised Reno's alive when you see him in Midgar. If you didn't do the sunken Relnikha before this & won the sub-game, the last time you saw him was dying in a sub you sank. This french streamer is the first person I've seen get this dialogue naturally.

For #WIPWednesday I had been struggling with writing for a while and took an extended break but I think that we are So Back all this and more over the course of three days...

Text that reads, "Elena passed by one of the training simulators on her way to the office. A deeply disgruntled Shinra technician was grumbling to himself about how the rats were so damn determined to keep chewing on the wires that kept the security cameras online. He blamed the secretaries, dropping crumbs from their muffins as they gossiped.

Elena had gotten very good at making the cuts imitate teeth marks. You had to hold the knife at specific angles, make sure to not repeat the same stroke. And, of course, she had to cut the wires to other things as well, it would be suspicious if the alleged rats were only targeting the cameras. Elena was familiar with the placement of every camera in the building, where they overlapped. She was small enough that she could wriggle through vents and open panels

Turks were allowed to do as much training as they wanted to in the simulators outside of work hours, so long as they didn’t have deficiencies in any of the tests. Elena didn’t care all that much, she already had some of the best scores (okay, maybe she did it sometimes. Barely working arcade machines in dingy laundromats and with the initials ELE at the top of the scoreboard. It gave her a sense of pride.) Clocked out and made her way to the training simulator.

The day seemed to pass rather quickly. a paper airplane, lovingly delivered by Reno’s hand that poked her right in the center of the back of her head. Made her way to. She always triple checked her email for company reports on maintenance issues.

It had surprised Elena, when she first tried, that jailbreaking the system wasn’t particularly difficult. There were a pretty wide array of commands she could use that produced rather amusing results. Sometimes, she pulled up a hologram of Reno and flipped him off a couple of times. Sadly, the voice lines were hardcoded to what was already recorded, as funny as it would have been to force him to sing something by The Chocobo Chicks."

One of the good things to come out of ECBC is that the better graphics make it possible to animate physicial interactions between the characters. It's nice to see Elfé getting hugs, at least. 🥺 #FF7BC

I commissioned @monstressart.bsky.social and look at this amazing art they created for Wild Card!! I'm so happy with it ahhhhhhh (love that expression, he's going to kill a motherfucker) #RenoOfTheTurks #ShinraFuckers

An artwork designed to look like a playing card, featuring Reno from FF7. The top half shows Reno lit in Red, with a 'try me' grin. The bottom half shows Reno lit in blue, with his hood up, and a pensive expression. The text reads 'Wild Card'. A blue cuahl and a red cinnabar moth are in the corners.

The flipped version of the playing card, with the blue-lit pensive Reno on top, and the red-lit aggressive Reno on the bottom.
