It was also surprisingly theatrical with a lot of unexpected turns along the way. Essentially a one man play taking aim at issues and figures from across politics and society, including his own character (but I won't give spoilers). Tom Walker is a brilliant satirist and performer.

Recommend the new @jonathanpienews.bsky.social live show. Funny, dark, thought provoking, sweary & superbly written! Of his four live shows I've watched, this is the most ambitious. His earlier Fake News show was one of the finest live comedy performances I've ever seen & this may well be superior🔥🔥

I visited Tipsoo Lake in Mt. Rainier National Park on the hunt for mountain reflections and alpine wildflowers. The cloudy sky prevented any reflections of Mt. Rainier, but I did discover an abundance of wildflowers! This painting captures the beautiful blooms up close, in impressionistic color. Thick brushstrokes of oil paint laid side by side, without layering, create a mosaic or stained-glass appearance in the landscape.

This painting was inspired by a canoe trip down a slow-moving creek in Oregon's Willamette Valley. Tall, overhanging trees lined the banks, enclosing the creek and enveloping it in total silence. The water was so still I could see the reflections of the surrounding trees almost mirror-clear in the water. The only thing that disturbed the water's surface was the occasional fish gulping at a bug. While I was painting this work, I felt completely enveloped in the silence and quiet peacefulness of this memory.
