I enjoy a lot of stuff from Marvel/DC, but I love the adaptations BECAUSE it's what happens when you get one big project with a dedicated artistic team communicating clearly to each other exactly what makes THEIR version work, which will eventually end bc actors age, and thats a nice change of pace.

People say "Well this ain't the comics" about the movie/cartoon adaptations so much bc the comics dont even know what's canon half the time. You'd stomp out Raimi for wanting to complete his trilogy's reflection motif by giving Spidey reflective eyes JUST bc you're used to it, no artistic reasoning

DC just dropped a reading guide for Batman...'s next 10 weeks. That's right, to understand the next steps for Batman, you're gonna have to keep up with up to 4 different depictions of Gotham per week for the next 10 weeks. There's 3 Batman comic runs simultaneously going not listed here btw.

The reading guide for a Batman storyline that will span the pages of:

- Batman
- Detective Comics (which is also Batman)
- Poison Ivy
- Batgirl
- Batwoman
- Catwoman
- Harley Quinn
- Nightwing
- Sunset
- Gotham General
- Streets of Gotham
- Gotham Central
- Sunrise

If you want to understand the Batman story, you'll need to read all of these - all have completely different creative teams handling them.

"Marvel/DC comics are the only media where it's acceptable to say 'this isnt the source material, get over it,' and I know y'all wouldn't say this about an adaptation of a manga like One Piece." One Piece has had one author for 25 years. Batman's comics are barely consistent with themselves.
