everything promised is for after the next election. means it'll never happen. he's as powerful as he will ever be right now, if he really wanted to do this stuff he'd do it now. if he gets even a reduced majority after the next election it'll be a bloody miracle (for him, ongoing disaster for us).

i see it as them reclaiming what job interviews were always supposed to be: two-way. it's the prospective employee testing the employer: if you can't deal with this, i don't want to work for you anyway. It's how it should be and I admire them.

i hadn't noticed! I think when I've wanted translations the site I want it on does its own, like *here*, and youtube. I note you do have the choice to be a bit less absolute about AI and just turn on different features alone, like translations. i'd have no qualms about doing it if it arose for me.

it is not necessary to pore through about:config like your life depended on it. 😜 tbh because i use firefox sync is mostly just comes to life after signing in and logging into the password manager (bitwarden in my case) i seem to have to set the search engine and turn ai off by hand though.

exactly. and no-oxygen environments do exist and often preserve things longer than you'd expect. like peat bog bodies. sometimes as well as preserving the dead they can catch the unwary living, such as the "death pools" in the red sea. so yeah, absence of oxygen, presumably why it's not green.
