With the big off switch in the AI Controls sections of the settings. (Pictured.) Sure they had to be bullied into it because Corporate can be a bit hard of understanding why the people who use their browser do so, but they did it in the end. Also use the No AI DuckDuckGo Search extension...

also relevant: Orcas! Also, they're intelligent, and *know* that reveals their position, so they're known to swim on their sides when sneaking up on seals close to shore.

The lawfare was expected. The disappointing thing is that it seems Amnesty weren't expecting it (even though the article itself makes the point) and folded instantly. Aren't they tooled up for this sort of fight? Of all orgs aren't they ready for this? At least republish it outside the country?
(Skinner Meme) Are we the baddies? No, it's Amnesty International whoa re wrong

not wanting to be a doormat doesn't make me a man, it just makes me a feminist. i believe someone famous said it better...
I myself have never been able to find out precisely what feminism is: I only know that people call me a feminist whenever l express sentiments that differentiate me from a doormat.

*this* is earthshine. The earth is off to the left making that dim crescent light on the left. The sun, of course, is behind, from Integrity's pov.
The eclipse shot taken last night from Integrity. The coronal light is spreading out around the moon which is mostly in shadow. Earthshine is lighting a crescent of the moon on the left.

we still call it blogging, and shockingly RSS still exists, and I need more trans blogs, posting more frequently, in my RSS reader...

This was my favourite, taken a few years ago in my local café (when the book in question was new). Hopefully also sufficiently anonymised.
A man reading a well-thumbed copy of The Global Minotaur by Yanis Varoufakis in a café. He's sitting against the wall and the book is held up prominently in front of his face. He wants everyone to know what he's reading. (Or that's what it looked like to me, which is why I couldn't resist the snap, I don't have any more as it's not my habit, honest. 😉)

hmm. (I'm not the first to notice this.)

the detective is making up for it though. (I have no idea if he is the detective, I just so much want him to be.)
That extremely dapper gentlemen walking past the gendermes outside the Lourvre, who, if he isn't the detective in charge of the investigation, will surely inspire the actor playing him in the movie.

oh hey @libreoffice.bsky.social, i saw this in my timeline earlier but can't find where from now, but it's the user interface settings of course. I have one question. Where can I get *that* icon theme? All the ones I can find are so garish i usually have toolbars turned off completely.
Screenshot of LibreOffice user interface dialog, which includes in it an example screenshot of a toolbar, with nice thin understated blue toolbar icons. This is not an icon theme that I can find.

oh look, they changed it again.
Headline changed to: "EHRC commissioner calls for ‘period of correction’ after legal ruling"

subhead (I think as before): "Akua Reindorf said law never permitted self-ID, but trans campaigners call remarks ‘profoundly unhelpful’"

well, i order them in parallel but I consume them in serial... :-) and yes, G&T == gin and tonic. I'm not having any alcohol at home this month but i will allow myself the odd one when out and about. but where i'm at now is a nice italian coffee shop with actual Good Coffee.

hehe, I tried setting the word-completion settings on #LibreOffice to be like that in macOS - ie: space accepts the completion. Yeah, then I turned it off again. 😅 (NB: a daily dev build which I have for its almost-working mac-style full-screen behaviour, but I think current stable is the same.)
Trying outbreak oh that’s annoying. That was me tnot-disproportionatehappeningtion using space as themselvescompletion-acceptance keyboardand that’s clearly not-disproportionateworking forecastme. Why doesn’t this happen in macOS? (That is, I am in macOS, buttermilkin LibreOffice which does it its way.) Thereforeproblem here obviously is wheneveri type whateverI intendedto be a complete word, buttermilkit couldn'talso serve as themselvesprefix to one-flushavailable to autocomplete. Yeah, that’s not-disproportionatehappening!

whether you mean it to be or not, in social media a public follow is endorsement, and currency. having lots of followers increases clout. if as a journalist you just want to track what they're saying without endorsing, you can, here, subscribe to them using rss, eg:
