Could be 106F depending on the 41C rounding error-prone OMO.

Level 3 Super-Res working now. VCPs/GSMs aren't a thing in the EU so lots of fudging happening to make this work with existing decoders. Next up: Algorithmic products (SCITs, etc.)

Hey thanks! Also playing with making Himawari a bit more accessible using a new format. But for now it's Level II -> Level III decoding to see if we can start generating algorithmic products like we have in the states.

ADS-B data overlayed with radar really is a sight.

Like we know what the installer is doing but no one cares enough to call them out for it. Take federal grant funds, install a radar and restrict it to a half-assed application built by said installer. It's a shakedown and they can't even hold up their end of the deal.

I was having a good conversation with my buddy about "server uptime" and he brought up the fact that having 300+ days of uptime USED to be something to brag about. Now we deal with CVEs almost daily. I'm interested to hear everyone else's thoughts as someone that manages hundreds of servers.
993 days of uptime on a Linux server with a 5m load average of 10.11GCP breakdown of 185 VMs, 10 Instance Groups, 193 Disks, 73 Snapshots, 18 Images

I guess my ISP is ahead of the curve and assigned an IPv6 subnet which my network hardware gladly accepted. Only 10 more years before everyone else adopts it.

Didn't realize German radar data was so easy to get these days. So here's 10 tilts of H5 radar data plotted in 3D in @weatherpulse.com Maps for whatever reason. Plus Finnish radar and other shenanigans.

GR2Analyst / GRLevel3 / GIS users: I built the OSM 2025 roads into individual shapefiles either by state or by NEXRAD radar site. The newest available I had seen prior was 2022 so this is likely an important update. www.weatherpulse.com/pages/resour...

It was a fun experiment to see if I could push the boundaries of raw data tiles even further. ECMWF & GFS, each with 3 different products (DPT+UGRD+VGRD) rendered in the browser with a draggable split-pane. WebGL really has come far.

Neat that you bring this up. I actually started doing this with wind today! Much more performant than additional network requests. UGRD+VGRD+TMP raw values rendered on the GPU, so custom color palettes are available too.

Absolutely. Here's my GOES Full Disk True Color on a zoomable/pannable 3D globe using GLSL with raw data tiles (raw values baked into the PNG bands) as the underlying data framework. I really need to get back to work on a quicker/lighter delivery method like GeoParquet.

When someone has an aortic dissection, there is a 50% chance of them passing before they even make it to the hospital. I knew the signs and still nearly succumbed to this 2 years ago after making it to the hospital. Please donate to the John Ritter Foundation! my.onecause.com/fundraiser/o...

First it was noticeable that AWS was having issues (Twitch). No status update. Then, GCP was having issues (Discord). No status update. Now Cloudflare reports issues? What in the world is going on here? Was it CF all along? Why can't I load my GCP Console if it's only CF? Downdetector having a day.

Spoke too soon on the Level 3 radar. Not even real sure we've seen much of a resolution on the delays; they just cleared the queue and now things seem to be stacking up again. Ugh.

I can't count how many times the NWS has filled up their databases. We have quota alerts for a reason yet this issue continues to happen. Very fortunate that this was during an inactive weather period.

The same SBN which the NWS intends on discontinuing in 2027. (Note that they did this to some legacy NEXRAD products and the discontinuation was postponed for 5+ years before they fully followed through with it.)
