This map shows the ranking of the height of the storm surge during last weekend's Nor'easter. Stations tagged in red have less than 35 years of data. Most impressive was Little Egg Inlet, New Jersey, which was only beaten by Hurricane Sandy. Sandy typically is #1-#3 for these stations.

The high wind gusts (>30 mph in blue) and waves (>5 ft in white) have ALREADY started. That's because this week's Nor'easter will come AFTER a squeeze play between the high pressure over Canada and the low/front off the east coast.
