Canadians don’t hate Americans. We are resisting Trump and his threats to our sovereignty. American visitors of good will are very welcome in Canada.

The deal doesn’t say Alberta will fund the cost of building. 90% appears to be paid for by TMX, so all Cdn taxpayers. It’ll be the second pipeline BC and other Canadians will have bought, mostly for Alberta’s benefit

The conservative opposition leader in 1995 was Jean Charest. who campaigned for the no side in Quebec. It would sure be nice for Pierre Poilievre, CPC leader from Alberta, to be campaigning against Alberta separatism. Not seeing it yet.

Tweet by J Hunter @MrJoKeR604 responding to tweet by Pierre Poilievre:

Pierre hasn't learned his rage-farming lesson from his election loss.
- the LOAN is to BC Ferries to modernize their fleet
- there were no Canadian bids on the new fleet
- half of the loan goes to upgrade the
electrification infrastructure & terminal upgrades

Tweet by Pierre Poilievre @PierrePoilievre:

The Liberal government's Infrastructure Bank just handed $1B of your tax dollars to a Chinese state-owned company.
No jobs for Canadians.
No benefit to our economy.
Just more borrowed money leaving the country.

It’ll cost taxpayers around $1M or so, to hold a byelection in #BattleRiverCrowfoot, so that taxpayers can continue to fund Poilievre’s lifestyle in a taxpayer paid mansion, chauffeur, cook, as well as his LOO salary. In addition to PP bilking taxpayers millions/yr to campaign for himself nonstop.

2) Growth measures (cont'd) on corp taxes: - reaffirmed accelerated depreciation renewal from December's FES. I'm glad then-Minister Freeland pushed for this in FES. Glad Mr. Carney continuing it. In my view this is biggest tax 'bang for buck' tax measure on the table, and I'm glad to see it.

Incredibly, in his abrupt reversal on trade policy, Trump seemingly just *increased* tariffs on Mexico and Canada to 10%. Until today, the U.S. has only had 25% tariffs on Canadian steel, aluminium, and autos, plus 10% on energy and potash. (With the caveat that it's 0% for USMCA-compliant trade.)
Just to recap following Bessent's briefing to reporters here at the White House:
- Tariffs on China increased to 125%
- 90 day pause on reciprocal tariffs amid negotiations
- Tariff level brought down to a universal 10%
- Canada and Mexico are part of the 10%
- Pause won't impact sectoral tariffs, which are coming soon (pharma, lumber, etc)
