BCP officers are blatantly showing off their corruption now. Public questions & statements can only be made on "items of business", so the report below has been classed as an "ITEM CIRCULATED BETWEEN MEETINGS" 🤣🤣🤣. Other items of business are being classed as "ITEMS TO NOTE" /"ITEMS FOR INFORMATION"

The planning application referred to is reputed to have been made by a senior officer at Bristol City Council, and should have been "called in" to the Planning Committee. Bristol officers have handled this FOI by just not replying to it www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/plan...

I love how the public in the Echo comments do more investigative journalism than the Echo's reporter (but then what did you expect?). I always assumed Safeguard got its income from Reform UK, but in fact it largely relies on the "Vigil" app, owned by GRM Ltd (same directors - Gary, Ritchie, Mark)

This guy goes out of his way to create unruliness & division in Basildon Council meetings, which he then monetises via his Facebook account. On 10/9/26 he spent 10 mins abusing Labour Cllr Victoria Joseph, claiming she'd been arrested. (She denies this vehemently & my FOI is likely to show it's BS)

Emailed the chair and vice-chair of the Overview and Scrutiny Board about this, in the event - deliberate attempt to shut down public scrutiny and accountability. Blue badges come under the normally-bullish Cllr Andy Martin's portfolio: it'll be interesting to hear what he has to say about this.

Thanks for writing about this. Many adult and children's social care teams, (and charities) are using 'Magic Notes', built using 'Open AI Enterprise'. Sometimes it's used without consent, but any concerns about risks and ethics are ignored. This is useful: academic.oup.com/bjsw/article...

Hearing BCP's new MO is more relaxed than his predecessors about Council meetings taking place during purdah, & none are likely to be cancelled during the Penn Hill by-election. Full Council 13/10 couldn't be cancelled anyway, due to execrable new Planning laws & need to reflect them in Constitution

Student loan terms to be made clearer in England. But there has been decades of mis-selling. Why no compensation? £325bn UK student loan debt, £295bn in England. Most European countries don't charge Uni tuition fees. England does. What chance of buying a home, starting a family?

Nothing defamatory about that statement; Rollason is a disgrace. As for Mr O'Gara: 6 weeks into his contract at BCP Council and he's attended one meeting so far. Didn't attend Cabinet, or Audit where he was meant to present an item on Council companies. Councillors haven't even had a Hello from him.

This was a horrible meeting. Reform UK continue their corruption, handing round amendments on scraps of paper at the last minute to minimise scrutiny. Green Cllr Sara Armstrong was superb & is 100% correct here⬇️⬇️ - the Christmas lights are just to buy or secure votes in Reformy areas.

As to the conduct of the meeting - relentless abuse from Reform UK members: Laurence Fear accused one female councillor of "basic low-level thinking". Even the Tory Cllr Karen Hay got it in the neck for daring to ask that a document be dated. Got it all on audio. Complaint going in against Anderson.

Those homes should never have been sold in the first place. They were sold cheap as a political bribe from Thatcher, and today the best properties are owned by private landlords or at least not the people they were originally sold to. Local authorities were not allowed to even use the sale receipts.
