Honestly, it’s more likely I misunderstood. All I meant that a button is a container with text in it, without the container, it’s just text- which would make it an in line link.

If it wasn’t a container, it’d be an inline link?

A while ago I asked for recommendations for portrait photographers in London. I found a really good one, but lost the thread (other platform, deleted account) Soo… any good recommendations?

Legitimately, now a must have. For everything from snippets, like when I have written prompts with variables that I reuse, to quickly finding the right emoji to quick maths, quick notes and running tasks. Absolutely pivotal to my workflow.

So do people realize that we aren't building new train tracks when we expand the amteak network, I have multiple times seen people say that we shouldn't expand the network because it would destroy protected lands, which would be a fair criticism but Amtrak doesn't build new tracks, we use existing tracks. We are not destroying protected lands, we are using land that has already been clear for a century

amtrak-official

Also the alternative is more highways which destroy significantly more land for less capacity than railways. So the question is do you want to keep complaining about something that isn't happening and let the environment get damaged as a result or do you want to actually learn how things work

So, wait... Were the tracks not in use at all? Or was it like *only* commercial transport on those tracks? Either way, its good that amtrak will be able to use them again, but one would be much more frustrating

Almost all rail tracks in the US are either abandoned or only used for freight rail at the moment

Jesus, we really have no excuse for having such a lackluster rail system, do we?

If all the federal workers who have been fired, the remaining ones quit and just up and started another government, effectively creating a functional pseudo govt to restore the timeline? Is this anything?

I still have some issues with contrast now, but I am so much happier with the way that this is looking. I brought it back down to 3 colours - which will make it easier to add in variables for dark mode and has refined the contrast to be much cleaner and clearer. #designsky #portfolio #contra
Final iteration of the three-panel interface using a simplified color scheme dominated by deep forest green and subtle accent colors. The streamlined palette creates more intentional contrast between elements, with consistent green tones unifying the design. A color swatch showing the limited palette appears below the interface, featuring two shades of green. The refined color system creates clear visual hierarchy while maintaining brand cohesion.

Stevie Rodger @stevierodger.bsky.social · 02/01/2025
I looked at other elements that distracted the primary object on each screen. I adjusted some colours and fixed the positioning on some items in the window, Although I have to admit the colours were the things that would probably have the biggest impact.
(Improved Contrast):

Further iteration of the three-panel interface with refined contrast levels. Key interactive elements and important information stand out more clearly against background elements. The visual hierarchy has been enhanced through strategic use of contrast, making primary actions and critical information more prominent while secondary elements recede.

Stevie Rodger @stevierodger.bsky.social · 02/01/2025
Firstly, I looked at the footer. It didn't need to be the highest contrast colour on the page, it's not so important so I brought the heirarchy down. On the first screen - it got lost in the contrast of the image behind it. So I just added a background blur and lowered opacity.
(Footer Menu Changes):

Similar three-panel interface to the first image, but with subtle changes to the footer navigation menu's visual hierarchy. The navigation icons and labels maintain consistent positioning but appear more subdued, allowing the main content areas to take visual priority while preserving functionality.

Stevie Rodger @stevierodger.bsky.social · 02/01/2025
This just wasn't coming together. The colours felt murky - it wasn't clear what was important and it just wasn't feeling like it was in the right place.
A three-panel mobile app interface showing a coffee ordering experience. The left panel features a pour-over coffee setup with a moka pot and Chemex brewer against a grey background, with ordering options below. The middle panel displays previous orders and professional details including "A Product Designer" role. The right panel shows a dark blue map interface with location options for Melbourne and Paris, indicating the user is based in London, UK. Navigation icons for Orders, Loyalty, Locations, and Profile appear at the bottom of each panel.
