DoorDash spent $1.4M trying to stop Zohran Mamdani from becoming mayor. This week's historic $131.5M enforcement action against DoorDash for underpaying NYC delivery workers shows why. Yet another reminder that the only thing that can beat organized money is organized people.

Back in June, I gave a keynote at the “Identiverse” conference about app/website authentication with a focus on passkeys. The talk touched on values and an interesting story about open, standards-based collaboration. If you like my writing or my work, you’ll enjoy it! www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVad...

Yeah that is common courtesy. Means nothing in the eyes of someone who wants to record you. In fact, them stating this makes me even less concerned.

I hope that some day you can find the means to take a step back and be a bit more pragmatic, because the accessibility implications for those of us with tinnitus and hearing loss seem like they could be pretty huge. Anyone bent on being intrusive can do so at much worse fidelity than this feature.

A lot of people seem to be getting upset at what appears to be an extremely transparent and responsible process of developing a feature that has significant accessibility benefits and minimal downside

I agree, this seems like a lot of reaction for what it is. The audio is even isolated into a new secure exclave.

FWIW, there was no mention of draft kings on the website nor app when I looked, and while this was under the betting section of the site, shouldn’t we give them credit for running this story at all, especially on the betting section?

Are you willing to share the dosage that you were on when cut off? Does that have any impact on the seriousness of the rebound? I am on 7.5 for diabetes and weight, but I’ve noticed many other improvements as well.

Some companies losing money because of the cost of AI adoption. Figma swung from a +$2M operating profit this time last year to a -$117M loss due to AI related costs. Canva has reduced their revenue growth targets from 30% to 20% because the “average cost of serving an AI task was too high”.

Truth Social is planning to sell access to Trump’s posts to Wall Street before they become public. Trump is so brazen that not only is he admitting he posts to manipulate the stock market, he’s charging Wall Street to get in on the grift.

Just the Apple keychain / Passwords app. It’s mostly fine. Same issues of sometimes logins not saved. A lot of it is apps not supporting input fields properly due to flutter type solutions. It’s nowhere near as powerful but less fiddly. Also it’s native and not heading away from native.

No thanks. A) My agents will never be allowed to use login credentials. Access tokens *at best* They will not log in as me, ever. B) I ditched 1password after 15 years because of their new direction of follow the corporate money, and this just seems like another bad decision.

When I was a kid living in Los Angeles in the 70s I had the privilege of listening Vin Sculley call Dodger games. One night he calls a memorable play for Manny Mota and he was so good that I saw the play in my head. Later that evening the 11 o’clock news had the play and it was exactly the same.
