No, I'm not going to name all of them, and yes, while it is quite possible that the character you really like isn't in there, I make no apology for their absence. Batman, Predator, Alien and The Biker Mice From Mars are all missing because I wanted this to be a tribute to Rebellion.

Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse: archive.org/details/tipp...

I think the Incredibles maybe didn't go so hard on the retro, or 60s pastiche was more palatable than 40s? There's Raiders, but that's just pulp over futurism? Maybe that optimism, especially anything with a US angle is just too hard to stomach.

I was doing some digital ad work for the Tennant/Smith handover, and told the liason from the BBC that the Doctor came off as a bit of a prick (Family of Blood must have been on my mind). (I was trying to be optimistic about the Smith version) Good job I didn't go into my thoughts on TGITF

I caught Rogue Trooper by @manmademoon.bsky.social at TIFF and wow, what a love letter to @2000ad.bsky.social… I liked seeing Gerry Finley-Day and @davegibbons90.bsky.social among the first names on screen, and the credits packed with real comic book panels. Afterwards we got a Paolo Rivera poster!

Maybe it's a stress on the parts factor? But when you see how violently 3D printers move it does seem a bit dated. I was surprised what a difference using VueScan made to the quality on my Epson - still slow though

I think there's some genuine uptick, and click through but views have always been sketchy. The best performing video I worked on has 1.3m views - but if you look at actual time watched for the whole thing, it's probably a 1/4 of that
