Worst part is we need that size venue - between like house of independents and the pony summer setup, and that's what we're stuck with

100% same thing I said, I don't think I've ever seen it THAT oversold. And I saw MCR there as they were blowing up. Last few afi shows there were legit chill, idk what the hell they were thinking. Plus the setup with stairs and bars has always sucked. Viva la Krome, that wonderful shithole

Same re: parking, but I was bar right. Killer set as always. Wild how good they still are live

Never gets old that my favorite singer still remembers me and likes all my Instagram shit. @jerf.xyz did you end up going?

A strange Halloween injury stemming from fun seems very in your ballpark

@jerf.xyz just heard you're into Chat Pile, should definitely check out the other bands on their label The Flenser - namely Planning For Burial (think doomy shoegaze done by Neil Young) and Have A Nice Life. Any chance you're gonna hit AFI at Starland on the 10th? If so, handshake time

steve cic @stevecic.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

but for real, what else you jammin?

because the Cure is quite possibly the greatest band ever. @mtedder.bsky.social said it best on the ringer: "The only band that can be said to be better than the Cure is the Beatles. I’m not saying the Cure is the second-best band to ever exist. (Though, pointedly, I am not not saying that.)"

Silver Jews' "Send in the Clouds" right into Pissed Jeans "Love Without Emotion" means shuffle really sees me today.

steve cic @stevecic.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

If you're into them I recommend TR/ST - similar vibe, saw them open two shows on AFI's headlining tour last fall and they very much won me over and had me dancing batcave style on the floor in Brooklyn pafamliu

Chris showed me this song years ago and it has had some kind of influence on any type of music I've ever creaated. A rare perfect song imo And he's right, that part of the video is a mindfuck

Man, I'm so excited for you to continue the Snyder run. Death of the Family and Zero Year are right up there with Owls. That era solidified him with Morrison as the greatest Batman writers to ever do it. Now I'm gonna have to re-read it with batman day this weekend.

Andy reel at the end of Collision wrecked me. I’m glad there are folks in AEW who understand hardcore to some degree listening to the people who are from hardcore. Shows why these silly lil hardcore punk shows matter yeah?

Band has 3 perfect songs and you know what? I'll take it

I bet Paul Banks and Mamdani would have a great hang and both just throw their hands up about Carlos. But big agree - the last run of records had 1-2 legit bangers each but this is the best complete Interpol EP in ages. Shout out unsung guitar hero Daniel Kessler too.

Also I like the photo as much as that job sucked. But remember, this is all about you defending a deserved man's honor and Chuck as if I couldn't think higher of you, you go and spread the gospel.

If you haven't seen those sketches, they're spot on gathering of the juggalo bits. Genkius. Up there with the Sudeikis/Forte NASA potato chips sketch. An unstoppable era of SNL

When I ran a star wars trading card app in 2015, Bobby came up to ME at our SDCC booth because he recognized me and wanted to say hi. Guy loves "star wars and the four Jamaicans" But really even just between Anthony Crispino and Drunk Uncle he's a HOFer. And pour one out for Ass Dan

Nothing feels as weird as a guy you haven't liked most of your life having a really damn good band - no point in deluding yourself, it just rips. Fuck.

I'm such a fan I make Ben Hanson look like he's into matchbox 20. Fun video game sidenote, they recorded a cover of NIN's head like a hole for the San Andreas soundtrack but ONLY the standalone soundtrack. Wild move

Dude hell yes, discovering that was a toggle switch thing at 13 blew my mind. And the clean bridge on midnight sun was jade's Les Paul but mic'd at the neck. Still my favorite band ever - did two shows last fall and another coming early this fall. They're just the greatest

steve cic @stevecic.bsky.social · 28/07/2026

Weird question Grubb, the post you quoted is the big turning point album of my favorite band, afi - ever give them a listen besides in tony hawk 3? Genuinely curious

@tombreihan.bsky.social also I finally subscribed to the site recently and as suspected the alternative number ones is just chefs damn kiss. The JAR column, as someone who bought 3 copies of Angus for two friends and I for Christmas when it was only print to order really hit me perfectly. Love it

Fourth of July was always kind of whatever to me because until I was like 22 my hometown had a gigantic Third of July rager so on the fourth everyone was already banged up. Miss that shitshow. The year I did it as a drinking person is by far in my pantheon of memorable days

One of the most special nights not just in Philadelphia hardcore, but hardcore in general. More importantly, the night that solidified that I found more than a best friend as we held a PA speaker up but someone I would forever call a brother. And because we love seeing PIB, to be less esoteric...
