If Putin accepts, every European leader (at least) should boycott the event. The G20 no longer serves the useful purpose it had during the global financial crisis, when it was founded, so nothing that matters will be lost by not being there.

So apparently the Trump admin is now concerned to facilitate Putin's engagement with other world leaders. Putin values status recognition of this kind enormously, particularly from the US, and it will be taken as a further sign of Western weakness.

The RNLI rescued Luftwaffe pilots in WW2 because the organisation is there to 'save life at sea' - it's something to be immensely proud of. But as I've said many times before Farage and Co don't seem to have pride in Britain and its institutions beyond flags and crap Enoch Powell said 60 years ago.
