When I was a kid, I couldn't wait to be an adult because I imagined that adulthood would be a time when no one would interrupt me when I was trying to read. If I could go back in time, I would tell that little girl she has never been more wrong about anything in her life.

On days you feel low, organizing and cuddling your old work can feel good. You will see personal growth and remember how you felt actually writing some things. You will also find writing you have zero memory of ever writing. The mystery of YOU is real. #writingcommunity #writers #inspiration

St. Marks Place caught at night in hot summer, Lonely from the beginning of time until now.
Tompkins Square Park would be midnight green but only hot.
I look through the screens from my 3rd floor apartment
As if I could see something,
Or as if the bricks and concrete were enough themselves To be seen and found beautiful.
And who will know the desolation of St. Marks Place With Alice Notley's name forgotten and This night never having been?

Weather-scare stories are the last bastion of the tabloid hack. You can basically terrify a pensioner without any legal comeback. The beauty is that the weather isn't going to sue you if you write hyperbolic bullshit that doesn't transpire, and, hey, you might even be right once in a while.
