Still working on these noise marines at the moment. So much detail 😵‍💫 I really like how the vallejo tmm paints look, but I’m not sure I like how incredibly shiny overall these models look. I’m hoping an oil wash step introduces some dark/matte separation between metals. #nerdlings #miniaturepainting

Four chaos noise marines for warhammer 40k, partially assembled and painted. They have vallejo amethyst purple tmm armor oanels mixed with gllssy black and gold trim. One has black stripes painted over white cloth bits.

Various other minis can be seen partially assembled and painted in the background.

The same four minis as the previous pic, joined by another noise marine assembly that is painted magenta instead of tmm purple as a color test. In this pic I added the sonic weapons to most of the minis, which are only primed black at this stage. This shows how they will look / be posed with their weapons.

Some wip stuff. Putting colors on a steed of slaanesh, batch painting the cloth bits of these noise marines #miniaturepainting

Steed of slaanesh (modern) mini painted with very dark blue scales, very light blue skin, and magenta spines. A daemomette with violet skin and bright red crab claws stands next to it, to test out how the riders would contrast with the steeds if painted in this way.

Four chaos noise marines. One is fully painted, the other three are just the body and leg subassemblies paintec black and metallic purple (vallejo’s TMM amethyst purple). Their loincloths have been basecoated with a light grey. Various other miniatures can be seen in the background.

Two metal daemonette seeker minis sculpted by juan diaz. One is partially painted, while the other is bare metal. The painted daemonette is violet with reddish head-tentacle things for hair. The steed is very light blue on the underside transitioning to almost black on the top. The scheme for the steed is inspired by some of Darcy Bono’s paintings.

Here's the two I've painted so far together! Using these minis to give me energy between other projects. Just doing exactly what my whims decide with no care for anything else. Weathering metals is something I find oddly soothing so I did just that.

A winged daemon prince mini for 40k. It has bright pink armor with rose gold trim. Various debris and rubble are strewn about the base to match the look of my other minis. The basing is mostly primed black, with some more fresh material on top that hasn’t been painted yet.

It’s been a minute! Finally got a little hobby time and I’ve been committed to trying to finish these flawless blades. The off-white basecoat in the second pic will have pink painted over it. #wip #miniaturepainting

Flawless blade chaos space marine mini for warhammer 40k. It has alternating black and pink armor panels with silver and metallic purple trim and gold decorations. The skin is a sickly blue-green. There are decorative flowing cloth bits painted a dark red with white slaanesh icons freehanded on. The eyes and feeder tubes are an acid green color.

The figure stands on a rubble-strewn blue-gray base with a ruined stone imperial eagle. The color of the base contrasts heavily with the colors on the mini.

The third flawless blade mini, in progress. Several armor panels have an off-white basecoat which will then have the pink gradient painted over it.

Something I’ve been doing in the background is cleaning up 3 ebay fiends, but it’s been so much work! Scraping through layers and layers of thick primer and superglue.

Some pieces of a fiend of slaanesh, disassembled and partially stripped. While bare metal shows in many places, others have a layer of superglue up to 1mm thick (especially around the joints).

Small hobby WIP: I realized I was avoiding working on the DP because I didn’t want to use the shoulderpads, so I finally committed to leaving them off and sculpting over the holes in the shoulders / finishing the straps with milliput:
