I would guess that at some point, they had a close connection to a Jewish trade route along the Silk Road that disappeared at some point. But then again, I don’t have a sense of where communities were sourcing their Sefer Torahs from… maybe weird torahs were more common than I’d think.

I never even thought about how I write Hebrew not just right to left but also the letters start from the top. But when I write Hebrew I do it like English, sitting on the line. Do Israelis hang their letters from the line like a sofer would?

but I don’t think that attendance at that rally is disqualifying. Much less disqualifying than, for example, a Nazi tattoo. If all they’ve got about her is that she attended a rally, hopefully she will have something intelligent to say about that choice.

When an explicitly pro Palestine group refers to a previous day’s massacre as an “unprecedented liberation struggle, the Al-Aqsa Flood”… and says, “We stand with the Palestinian people.“ I dunno… I imagine there was a lot of cheering, nastiness, and antisemitism at that particular event.

I thought Ezra Klein’s show this week on Israel/Palestine was fascinating. I felt like it recognized the realities on the ground better than basically any discussion I’ve ever heard. The proposed solution was like nothing I’d ever seen described before, but I found it extremely appealing.

Something BlueSky never mentions when they’re blaming the “pod bros” for Platner is that there is a Pod Bro running for office, and it’s Abdul al-Sayed. He literally hosted one of their shows and is a friend of theirs. But he’s progressive so it doesn’t fit the narrative.
