So I'm not terrible at machine sewing. Hand sewing...ehhhh...not that great. Don't really have a lot of experience doing ladder stitching, but it's for a prop, for the ren faire. I'll probably make another one later that'll look better. maybe. At least the stitching is easy enough for me to hide.

Currently reading The Jungle and a few hours into the audiobook and I can already tell I'm going to have to take this in chunks. It's a fantastic book but it hits way too close to home in some aspects.

The vast majority of creatives are struggling. Writers are leaving LA in droves. Directors are driving Uber when they aren't lucky enough to get gigs directing dubs or subs for foreign films. Recognizable actors are finding jobs they won't be recognized in. The whole industry is shitty right now.

Went to my comics meetup last night and we did a supply swap. Glad I went because I was able to unload a bunch of watercolor paper i've been holding on to for like a decade or more. I *almost* took more paper home, but ultimately just took one sketchbook and two bottles of ink.

I'm honestly so upset about this. CTcon was the first show I ever vended at, and I was looking forward to going next year until they pulled this. The $150 is actually a deposit, but it's still a slap in the face to charge artists $625 for a table, at a not very big show.
