Doing a quick search for Norman Rockwell, Duckduckgo shows more generative AI on page 1 of search results than actual art. The image tab is dominated by the same nonsense. This is sooo problematic, mixing the work of a great artist with AI slop.

After 3 years, the divorce was final last month. We closed on the sale of the house a few weeks ago. Tomorrow the trailer arrives from TX with all my stuff. This weekend, I can finally settle in here with all my books. It feels so good to be back home in IL. Just wish my daughter was here too.

Small victory after 2 months of fighting. Also as I was doing rounds, it appears that CivitAI finally took down the LoRA producing images in "the style of Michael Whelan". That one was took years, but it looks like my complaint through the webhost finally got it done.

Small progress on copyright issues today. AdobeStock removed 8 listings. 1 Etsy listing came down. I've been giving some thought on how to attack this. I submitted a complaint through a registrar on the biggest commercial abuse we're dealing with. We'll see if I can get a domain revoked.

My mother, the inimitable Jane Yolen passed away this morning after a blessingly short fight with Alzheimer’s. She did not suffer, and went peacefully into the ether which, I am certain for her, will be filled with words of the most exquisite beauty and meaning.

Yesterday I spent the day waiting to sign the mediated settlement agreement that would wrap up a painful separation and "no contest" divorce that has lasted 3+ years. That inexplicably didn't happened because the mediator never confirmed the time/date over the weekend... 😑

Don't forget that Zohran Mamdani spent his entire campaign standing proudly beside the trans community. He went to trans rights rallies just to show support. He proudly waved trans rights flags without hesitation. He refused to back down in support of trans rights. That makes me happy.
