Bloomberg news was interviewing Jamieson Greer this morning about the admin's trade policies and when it got to Canada he professed total confusion as to why Canada retaliated and when pushed on the "51st State" rhetoric he said that in his mind "politics" is separate from economic policy. LOL.

one funny thing that happened in wisconsin recently is how little anyone appears to have cared that the republican candidate for governor almost died when his single engine plane ran out of gas and crash landed in a lake. just a "shrug and move on" level event.

One of my most lasting memories of 9/11 is that it was the early days of cell phones and anyone that lived or worked near the site wasn't able to get ahold of family or friends for a long ass time (more than 24 hours for me) because there were so many transmission antennae on the North Tower

I'd been visiting friends & sleeping on their couch in Brooklyn with a flight home out of LGA later in the day on 11th. It took until late in the afternoon to get a call out to one of their parents in Jersey and have them call my family in Wisconsin to let them know I was ok.

It’s sad in some ways that the tragedy & sacrifice & heroism of 9/11 has receded into history and is less “real” to younger generations than to those of us who lived it. But it’s 100% better this way than when its memory was a cudgel wielded by thugs to pursue a barbarous agend.
