This is a deep dive. As a kid one of the games I played on the Genesis was Tinhead. The level 2 boss scared the crap out of me because you would spawn in and couldn’t see it, it would simply start launching things at you with a high pitched screech sound. I would play easy mode to skip it.

ADHD plus migraines was and is my nightmare, because acting to take triptans fast enough when dealing with other things was near impossible for me, on top of making sure I’m not accidentally triggering my own migraines on myself. Other medications are helpful, but incredibly pricy.

New Steam scam just dropped ‼️ Compromised accounts create a group chat with a fake "$50 gift card" image and QR code linking to a phishing site, then immediately leave to hide the message from the account owner. Be super weary if you receive a group chat out of the blue like this.

Oh people think it’s weird but it regulates your body temperature a bit towards the environment. When you’re inside a hot and dry building all day something cold and wet is great!

Same goes for drinking water. While ice cold water may seem refreshing, it can also shock your system, but on the inside. Cool water to room temperature water is easier to drink and process.

My understanding is you accept the offer, then have to afterwards buy a subscription to get the month. Accepting the offer and then doing nothing doesn’t charge your account, but doesn’t get you a month.

Competition is great, it can inspire people to do better and push for more. But I agree, there is nothing more to a leaderboard than what is there. It's all bragging rights and pride. There's a lot more to gain from speedrunning than showing up other runners.

My only argument in favor of a leaderboard is that it helps you track your own progress. Post your times and see it drop. However, that's not a requirement, and it doesn't require a leaderboard; a leaderboard can just be convenient to use for this if it's there. Agreed, it's strange.

I get it, it’s difficult to find an in road. Do you know what kind of work you want to do in the long run, and have an idea how you want to go about getting there? It doesn’t have to be jumping straight to that field right away, but could be other jobs, certifications, stepping stones.

There is worry and there is fear. You can act on worry, mitigate it, subvert it, prepare for it. With fear you hide from it, ignore it, or at best overcome it. Showing what there is to reasonably worry about and steps to prepare and subvert it is wise. Inciting fear and panic is not.
