There should be a text-based video game called “Let’s Decide on a Band Name”.

Time for your new favourite band? #FeatureFriday this week is the magnificent Bleak Magician and their recent release, "No Fireball Show". In my opinion, an absolute work of art. #bandcamp #alternative #indie-rock #music www.untidydownloads.com/bleak-magici...

Happy #FeatureFriday, everyone! This is the day of the week where we drag out an album by a Blue Sky artist and present it to you. Today we have for you the pretty excellent "No Fireball Show" by @srogimroczek.bsky.social and friends - Bleak Magician! bleakmagician.bandcamp.com/album/no-fir...

Plan for the rest of the year: 1) Towerhouser III release (passively looking for a partner label to release physical version) 2) Demonographer single that will crush you 3) Bleak Magician album — all about Satan and witchcraft, yay!

I present to you... the music industry.

Keep it personal. Write your automated replies in your own voice so fans feel it's actually you responding. This isn't about being fake. It's about scaling genuine connection.

I took the strings off of Weirding’s guitar so that I wouldn’t be tempted to play it.

Feeling like giving up on recording and releasing music. Just going back to writing songs and whatnot. I just feel like I’m burning a lot of energy for no reason.

Been isolated and in mastering mode much of the last week and a half. Not much social media and zero writing. What have I missed?

I have been mostly completely offline the last several days. Therefore, the new Towerhouser III is ready for release. As are not one, but two new Bleak Magician albums. I have become a music production machine.

Don't know if you know this, but if you stay off of social media for a couple days you cease to exist and all memory of you is purged. It is as though you never were born.

I don’t know whether it’s apocryphal or whatever, but I remember a story about Kafka responding to the question “Why are you a writer?” with the response: “Do you actually think this is a choice I made?” I feel that way about music. I hate being a musician. But it’s not like I have a choice.

"Sawing synths and skittering drum machine patterns with toms and complex and overaturistic melodies (yes, I think Imrryr just helped me coin a new word) carry themes that occasionally will remind you of John Harrison's score to Day of the Dead." | 4 out of 5 stars.

I am looking for a record label to put out Towerhouser III in a physical format. My only asks are that your label has a history of putting out music by anti-fascist artists, you sincerely love music, and you will take whatever my cut is and donate it to your favorite animal-friendly charity.

Thank you, Srogi, for very interesting and insightful review. Phil Ochs is a good call. All the doom that’s fit to sing! In fact, I’m just finishing up a song inspired in part by his “Knock on the Door,” which holds up pretty well… youtu.be/beLWF9eqnnU?...

"There is a long tradition of plainish-voiced political troubadours from Woody to Phil that upends the concept of the 'performer' and replaces it with the 'prophet' or the 'conscience'. That's the tradition that Elliott lives in."
