I say that but Dota 2 has had multiple PvE events over the years, just never hunkered down to expand any of them into a permanent fixture. Maybe because Dota itself is an institution but Deadlock as an original game feels more freedom to experiment and only have the MOBA be the Primary Mode.

Very curious if the eventual PvE mode will move the needle for people like that. Street Brawl is MOBA team fights as its own mode but I imagine the PvE will be functionally a different game. One of the benefits of it being built around a shooter instead of an RTS I guess, more malleable.

Used to get some weird memory leaks on Mint that I had to use launch commands to try and lessen, but most of them have been quietly fixed and latest update made the game run way better too. Now all that's missing are games with kernel anticheat which are almost all games I don't personally miss.

Thinking about how Deadlock's story has stuff like "The US annexed South Ixia as the 52nd state" + Grey Talon and Vindicta's entire backstories and wondering if they ever actually will explore it all in depth. So many wrong ways to go about it but I still want to see the attempt.

Deadlock's done a good job rethinking Dota's systems so that you can have any hero scale reliably and not have to juryrig some bullshit with a hyperspecific item build or agh's upgrade or talent rework, but it does feel like the heroes as granular game pieces has withered as a result.

Deadlock's level up and stats system so vestigial I completely blanked on heroes all having standardized melee damage EXCEPT Venator out of all characters. Abrams gets a whole extra .1 melee damage per level compared to the standard 1.6. Kelvin and Dynamo get 1% of resist per level for some reason.

Violet in the new deadlock update stands out as normal when next to 5 more weird/distinct designs. I'll take that as an improvement to when Old Gods came out and voting was obviously Rem wins first and then just five pretty normal humans/humanoids. THAT update made me worried about DL's roster.

If it was still their big announcement at the end of a Dota 2 tournament and $20 upfront, probably about the same in 2026. Maybe more like Dota Underlords where it only does mediocre and gets cancelled anyway.
