And they're up! Link to store in my bio! Look who made it to launch 🦄✨ I've listed my keychains in either wood or acrylic. I hope the backgrounds make it easier to identify which is which. The wood mockup looks desaturated but you can see how saturated they are in the photos of my samples below ✨

Keychain designs of Celeste from Deadlock.

The left with tree rings in the background and a little log in the top left corner shows the mockup for a wood keychain.

The right with the blue-ish background with stars shows the mockup for an acrylic keychain.

yamato design breakdown 🧵! hair and face: the hair was the hardest part for me to figure out. i didn't want it to be too traditional, nor too non-descript that it lacks flair. there was also the consideration to incorporate masculine presentation. in the end, this was the compromise i landed on

HAIR

Style
- Shimada-style nihongami
- Era-appropriate style for both men and women (1940s)

The goal was to find the middle-ground between the past and tradition (Kaori) and the future (Yamato).

Mizuhiki Knot
I wanted to use the musubi-kiri style specifically, a knot that is hard to undo, and is specifically used during events that should "only happen once"-- like funerals. I felt this was appropriate given Yamato's relationship with her brother and the grief his death caused her.

FACE

Beni
Traditional pigment used by Japanese women most commonly on the lips, but it is also used elsewhere on the face, like in the outermost corner of the eyes. It is believed that the color red represents vitality and passion, and in some cases, also warded off evil spirits.

Yamato is supposed to present a bit more masculine, but the rest of the cast acknowledges her as a woman, so I felt like small details like a bit of beni around the eyes would add some contrasting flair without greatly feminizing the design.
