Also there's only really one true macro shot out of the four: the match. The air bubbles were cropped in from a full view through a glass and the whirlpool is not a sink plug hole up close - it was shot at a "water park" & the eye of the whirlpool was about a foot across.

I've done bits 😃 I like the way it can give you a whole different perspective. It just takes a lot of patience & often a lot of light. I don't have a proper macro lens for my Fuji kit, but I do have a couple of good ones for my old Canon kit.

What dickhead did next: A row erupted on Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) after a right wing activist planted Union flags on the summit. One walker said: "Everyone is coming up here, having a nice day and you are here spreading hate speech. Why does everyone else have to deal with that?"

She is vulnerable but strong at the same time. It's a universe I find myself expanding upon inside my own head. The Ravens at The Tower, the clowns of Piccadilly Circus... and when I get to Whitechapel the ripper lore gets mixed in...

Oh, you had to let me know there's a bluray option now... 🙄 Ack, I'll investigate, I do have birthday money to spend... 😁

I remember I taped it on original broadcast but sadly that VHS went with all the rest a long, long time ago. I was rather obsessed with Laura Fraser...🙄 but the whole concept just fascinated me. Always have it in mind when in London & especially on the tube.

God yes! I have it on DVD & hadn't watched it in years. Really enjoying it (1 episode to go). I remember being disappointed that they changed the intro music on the DVD, but retained it on the outro. Would love to get hold of the whole piece but searching Eno releases has been fruitless thus far.

So it has to be an evening of Bellatones songs. I had them all lined up to play in the car on the way to Paul's funeral, but I couldn't face it at that point. Starting off with their 2023 EP "Winter". bellatones.bandcamp.com/album/winter...

Hehe, I did get there once before about 12 years ago when I was walking my commutes a lot. But being as big as I was when I was 20... yeah I'll take that (I was still big...). And Mr Hackett & band were bloody amazing 😁

Iwanted to wear my old leather jacket for the Steve Hackett gig tonight. Bought aged 20, painted by my mate Stu shortly after. Signed (after this photo was taken) by Simon Nicol of Fairport Convention. And I just discovered it zips up again, 39 years later... 😁

And there are many other cars on the roads which seem to serve the same one purpose. Give me a Fiat 500 or Citroën 2CV any day. Favourite car I've ever owned? My old Citroën C1. Such a fun drive. You could just about park 2 of those in one space 🤣

I didn't need quite such great timing to capture this, but still pleased that I caught it. Taken at a Waterloo re-enactment at Wollaton Hall, Nottingham, for the bicentenary in 2015. I cropped in a bit so you can more clearly see the sparks flying out. I don't know anything at all about firearms.

I've been watching it repeatedly since first broadcast. It hasn't yet lost its charm, doubt it will. And the music is superb. I did buy a couple of other albums by Cinder Well earlier this year. There's some quality to Amelia Baker's voice I can't quite pin down, but I love.

I got an email at 10:49 yesterday to say it was released. I'd only pre-ordered it the day before. I have a couple of the albums containing some of the tracks & bought the theme tune single a while back. But it's good to have the more "incidental" pieces now too.

I have to say that the price some of these fetch on Discogs is shocking & a rip-off. I'm a music lover, not "a collector" & the only way I see my music collection as "an investment" are in terms of my well-being and enjoyment.

I'm not sure they know just how generous a gift it might be 🤣 But they are the sort of friend who I don't think would care about the financial value, just the value of being able to give this to a friend who they know will listen to it.

Chris Tweed @squonky.eurosky.social · 04/10/2026

A superb album. I had it on CD, but a friend gave me this as a birthday present yesterday. They have a stash of vinyl they're looking to sell & this was in the collection. I need to have a conversation with them because I suspect it's a UK first pressing. I need a closer look at the matrix etchings.
