I'm officially warming up for the gig at Leicester Print Workshop on October 30th. Court Jester & JJ Lovegrove. Also playing in Nottingham on 24th if that's a better fit. substack.com/@jjlovegrove...

So it has to be an evening of Bellatones songs. I had them all lined up to play in the car on the way to Paul's funeral, but I couldn't face it at that point. Starting off with their 2023 EP "Winter". bellatones.bandcamp.com/album/winter...

Iwanted to wear my old leather jacket for the Steve Hackett gig tonight. Bought aged 20, painted by my mate Stu shortly after. Signed (after this photo was taken) by Simon Nicol of Fairport Convention. And I just discovered it zips up again, 39 years later... 😁

My dear old Squonk hand painted leather jacket. Wearing it again tonight.

I didn't need quite such great timing to capture this, but still pleased that I caught it. Taken at a Waterloo re-enactment at Wollaton Hall, Nottingham, for the bicentenary in 2015. I cropped in a bit so you can more clearly see the sparks flying out. I don't know anything at all about firearms.

I have to say that the price some of these fetch on Discogs is shocking & a rip-off. I'm a music lover, not "a collector" & the only way I see my music collection as "an investment" are in terms of my well-being and enjoyment.

Saturday afternoon tunes in the form of "A Show Of Hands" by Rush. I've had this on vinyl since original release but always wanted it on CD. A very close contest between this & "Exit Stage Left". "Show" does give me goosebumps with the Three Stooges intro & great live renditions all round.
