FIRST OFF: we do not know if luigi mangione is the shooter and i will continue to say he’s not until they prove beyond a shadow of a doubt.

giuseppe zangara (1900-1933) attempted to assassinate then-president-elect FDR, but was unsuccessful. in his effort, however; zangara fatally wounded anton cermak, mayor of chicago, and wounded 4 bystanders. part of his ongoing struggle was chronic pain (later discovered to be adhesions in his gallbladder), which led to him losing his job. he also just really hated capitalists. he is reported to have said: “i kill kings and presidents first, and next all capitalists”. he was put to death by electric chair in march of 1933 for the murder of mayor cermak.
