The core of this thing is how gorgeous it looks, though. Lovely animation. Great sprite work. A really cohesive whole that's probs the prettiest puzzle game I've seen (and there's a lot of really nice looking ones!)

I'm not a puzzle games person, and the fact that I like Howl is an indicator that it's on the simpler, easier, freeform side of things. It also has some very light progression mechanics, where depending on whether you blitz through stages or kill lots of wolves you get different stuff.

And it does werewolves in what is probably the best way I've seen anyone do it. Lycanthropy is an auditory effect. If you hear a howl, you turn into a ravening wolf and then you start howling.

The trick is basically just you have to move at his pace. You are a big crushy grabby monster beast, and he is but a small and forthright horse, so you gotta offer the paper towel gently for him to step onto, and let him walk around on it if he needs to.

Modern wizards don't know this, but this is actually an artifact from the time before Mage Hand. Many connect these figurines to the theory that the spell was initially taught by cats, and early drafts could only be used for batting small objects around.
