I loved NXT circa 2013-16 or so, would look forward to it every week, and Adrian Neville was an amazing champion for more than a year. Awesome matches and an underrated persona, kind of a very slightly nuanced face with a hint of heelish tendencies. I plan to watch this today. Rest in peace.

The story about the chameleon piqued my interest too. I worked for a state assemblywoman out of college, and when her husband died, I was assigned to play with her tiny dog at her house during the funeral because she thought he'd be sad. I was pretty skeptical, but you know what? The dog seemed sad.

This is a good point. They spent $150 million or whatever on anti-trans ads in 2024, but that was to win votes on the margins when they had rubes convinced that Trump was a white knight on the economy. Now that he’s a disaster in a remarkable number of ways, naked bigotry likely isn’t enough.

I met Howie Rose once in some back area at Shea and couldn’t resist approaching him to express my affinity. Howie had every right to relatively blow me off, but we had a nice 5 or so minute conversation in which he asked questions & seemed genuinely interested in the answers. I’m a forever fan.

This hack had better hope it works out. I read his spiked anti-trans article & it was terrible, plus he’s a bigoted jerk. I work for a newsroom and would never expect we’d hire this guy, and I’d expect most mainstream spots to follow suit. If Seattle Times put up with him, he should’ve stayed there.
